EDIT III: Took out the stupid glow.......>.<

EDIT II: I changed even more, took more suggestions below and worked more on the hair. Just tell me if the green glow and leaves are too much. This happens when a druid casts most of their spells, including shifting, so I though it would be nice to add, just so you could tell she's a druid...

EDIT: I changed some of the things that people suggested I changed. I also worked on the hair a little bit, and put back the glow on the eyes which mysteriously vanished in the original. Any further comments or suggestions for improval please fire away, I'm wearing a bullet proof vest =D

Here's a pic of my main from WoW, Zsharael Shadowmoon, night elf druid and guild leader of the Twilight Hive.

Been playing a lot of WoW recently, got her to lvl 60. Outland is scary...

I worked on this off and on for the last two weeks, maybe an hour a day. I think I still need some practice with hair, but otherwise I think I'm getting better at digital realism. Oh, and her ears are not wow style on purpose, these are long enough =P

Any tips and suggestions people can off will be greatly appreciated and will probably go into my next painting.

AWSOME!!!! She looks amazing. I haven't played WOW since summer started. So it's been a while. I too have a Night Elf Druid. Although she's only level 33 or something. Looks very nice. Wouldn't mind seeing more.

OMFG!!! This is amazing! By far your best work :+fav:'s all around!!!

However, if I may make a suggestion or two (you did ask...), it seems if the awesome texture of the skin stops around the tattoos/paint/facial thingies... unless that is very well pasted latex strips, the texture of the skin will affect the surface of the tattoos/paint/facial thingies... finally, the texture/lighting on the headband suggests that it is uneven, but at the edge it is comparatively smooth... it doesn't look right there...

erm, there is texture painted there, but since the layer for the stripes was above it, it sort f overides the texture layer, which was set on overlay. I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, I'll change the headband.

The main thing that attracts my eye the most with this work is definitely her expression. It feels real and I especially like the shading work you did around her nose. One thing though that does tend to distract me is her hair. Considering the amount of attention you paid with the skin shading, it comes across looking a little flat against the rest of the piece. I'd try putting more highlights closer to her eyes and make things darker as they expand and follow the depth of the skull. Otherwise, very nice work. Love those clouds too. =)

I've very proud of the nose, I dont know how or why but it turned out well...

yes, her hair is rushed and messy...I still dont have the knack of painting hair properly, I'm going to work on it a bit more maybe...I'll get it right somehow.

lol, the clouds are a photograoh I used as the background...I was lazy and this isnt a serious piece...I cant for the life of me remember where I got the photo, probably cgtextures.

I reckon you should put more effort into this work then till you can call it on a more serious level. It's heading in the right direction, so you should feel more rewarded once it gets where you want it to be. It'll be a good learning process.

Done, take another look now. Worked on it a bit more, tell me if there's anything else I should try =)
